Description

Water pumps

Water pumps are equipment whose use is to move water. They are essential in agriculture because they transport water from the source to the fields and crops. They can be used with a variety of irrigation systems, including drip irrigation, sprinklers, and hose irrigation. It comes in a variety of styles, from basic manual pumps to those propelled by fossil fuels or electricity.

What is a Water Pump?

An electromechanical machine is a water pump. Its purpose is to enhance water pressure so that is by moving it from one location to another. Modern water pumps are utilized to deliver water for municipal, industrial, agricultural, and residential purposes all over the world.

In sewage treatment plants, water pumps are also utilized to transfer wastewater. Modern ones are often powered by electricity, although they can also be powered by diesel or petrol engines. Solar panels may be used to power tiny pumps in some isolated settings, such as desert regions.

The working principle

The operation is primarily based on the positive displacement concept. It also uses kinetic energy to propel the water. They use alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) to power the water pump’s motor. Others, such as petrol engines, are activatable, although diesel engines can also work.

It is a lightweight device. It has a wide range of applications. It are useful for irrigation and may also be for a variety of domestic purposes. These pumps are used to move large amounts of water from one location to another. A water pump’s primary function is adaptability. A high-quality pump that has been properly chosen may be ideal for a variety of applications. For irrigation, emptying water from a low-lying area, replenishing the swimming pool and bathtub, and circulating chemicals or fertilizers. The collection of water pumps is massive. Consider the criterion while picking a powerful and consistent one.

Types of Water pumps at Aqua Hub Kenya

Borehole Submersible Pumps

We install and supply heavy-duty borehole submersible pumps built for Kenya’s farmers and conditions. These pumps deliver consistent water flow from deep boreholes for homes, farms, and community projects.

Model Series Power (kW / HP) Max Head (m) Max Flow (m³/h) Phase Min Borehole Ø (mm) Applications
D3SP1 0.37 – 0.75 kW (0.5 – 1 HP) 70 – 95 1.5 – 2.4 1 Φ 75 Small domestic wells, livestock
DSD 0.37 – 7.5 kW (0.5 – 10 HP) 50 – 200 2 – 8 1 Φ / 3 Φ 110 Boreholes ≤ 150 m, small irrigation
DSP 2.2 – 5.5 kW (3 – 7.5 HP) 120 – 210 8 – 18 3 Φ 150 Deep boreholes, community supply
DS 7.5 – 22 kW (10 – 30 HP) 250 – 350 17 – 60 3 Φ 200 – 250 County water projects, large farms

We are trusted for borehole equipping, irrigation, and domestic water supply.

Surface & Booster Pumps

We use surface and booster pumps where suction lift is shallow or water is stored in tanks. These pumps are perfect for pressure boosting, garden watering, and small-scale irrigation setups.

Model Type Power (kW / HP) Max Head (m) Max Flow (m³/h) Suction Lift (m) Use Level Applications
Peripheral Pump 0.37 – 0.75 (0.5 – 1 HP) 30 – 45 2 – 3 8 Light Domestic boosting, kitchen taps
Centrifugal Pump 0.75 – 2.2 (1 – 3 HP) 40 – 80 5 – 15 8 Medium Overhead tanks, small farms
Multistage Booster 1.5 – 3.0 (2 – 4 HP) 60 – 90 10 – 20 8 Heavy Pressure systems, drip irrigation

Engine / Generator Pumps

When power isn’t available, we recommend diesel or petrol engine pumps. They’re reliable for moving large volumes of water fast — whether for irrigation, construction, or flood response.

Engine Type Power (HP) Max Head (m) Max Flow (m³/h) Suction Lift (m) Fuel Type Applications
2” Engine Pump 5 – 6.5 25 – 30 30 – 40 7 Petrol Flood irrigation, water transfer
2-3” Engine Pump 6.5 – 7.5 30 – 40 50 – 70 7 Petrol / Diesel Medium irrigation
2-3-4” Engine Pump 7.5 – 10 40 – 45 80 – 90 7 Diesel Large-scale irrigation, construction

Sewage & Wastewater Pumps

For dirty or waste water, we install submersible sewage pumps that can handle solids, sludge, and wastewater. We use them for drainage pits, septic systems, and flood control setups.

Solar Water Pumps

Our solar water pumps are designed to run directly from sunlight — no grid power or fuel needed. We size every system based on your borehole depth and daily water demand for maximum efficiency.

We provide two categories of water pumps at Aqua Hub. Surface and submersible water pumps are the categories available.  There are several types of pumps under each category. Water pumps come in a range of styles that are best for certain purposes. Because water pumps are applicable in a wide range of applications, this list of water pump types represents the end-use of these devices.

Surface type

The design is to position away from the water or liquid with which you desire to operate. Surface water pumps are pumps that are located on the ground, away from the water, with a hose from the water pump’s inlet side inserted in the water. These pumps draw water into the pump system before pushing it to your field.

Surface pumps transport water from surface sources such as springs, ponds, tanks, or shallow wells. The majority of our surface pumps are diaphragm or rotary vane pumps that uses solar-direct for easy, low-cost operation.

The types of pipes we provide in this category include;

  1. Solar water muscles pumps.
  2. Electric pumps.
  3. Generator pumps.

Submersible type

A submersible pump is a pump that must be completely immersible in order to pump fluid. Because they are perfect for pumping water from far below earth, these pumps are commonly in deep wells and boreholes. Because they do not suffer from cavitation (the physical restriction on pulling water from the surface), submersible pumps have revolutionized deep water lifting by pushing water up to the surface.

Submersible water pumps are submerged in water. They have power cables and an output hose connecting to the pump beneath the water, therefore these pump systems must be water tight in order to function. They transport water from the depth of the pump to your farm.

The types of pipes we provide in this category include;

  1. Solar-powered pumps.
  2. Electric pumps.

How do does it work?

Water pumps can function in a variety of ways. They have three major components: an intake, a pump system, and an output. When there is a pressure differential inside the pump system, water comes into the pump through the input side. The water wishes to go from a high-pressure area to a low-pressure location. This is to transport water from the pump’s outlet side to a hose and then to your farm or water tank.
