For Circular Reservoirs

Add the diameter of the hole or excavation with twice the depth and consider an extension of 1 m on each side.

Dams with Slanting Heights

Length= Length of base area + 2(slanting height) + allowance on either side

Width = Width of the base  + 2(slanting height) + allowance on either side
